Director of Product – Airline Offer Business Domain
Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Director of Product to guide the Air Offer Business Domain and contribute to the evolution of airline retailing as the industry continues to change. In this role, you will define and carry out the strategic direction of the Offer portfolio, advancing the shift toward next‑generation retailing capabilities and supporting the commercial performance of our products across markets and customer segments.
You will guide and support a global team of Product Managers and work with colleagues across Technology, Engineering, Data and Science, Commercial, and Customer Success to strengthen innovation, enhance platform foundations, and improve value realization for our customers. As a senior leader, you will represent Amadeus in industry discussions and customer forums, contributing to the evolution toward Dynamic Offers and more modern retailing approaches.
Key Accountabilities
- Strategic Leadership & Portfolio Vision
- Shape the long‑term strategic vision of the Offer domain, positioning it within the airline retailing ecosystem and aligned with Dynamic Offers.
- Guide the evolution toward scalable and context‑aware capabilities to protect and grow the portfolio.
- Strengthen platform and ecosystem thinking, ensuring reusability across Amadeus solutions (e.g., Universal Distribution and Stratos) and enabling broader travel capabilities.
- Support global adoption of Nevio through standardized transition models for multi‑vendor and non‑Altea airlines.
- Business Performance & Value Realization
- Be accountable for the virtual P&L, applying Financial Operations (FinOps) and scalability principles to product lifecycle decisions.
- Improve commercial positioning and value realization, ensuring Offer products are packaged and communicated to support revenue growth.
- Partner with Regions, Sales, Business Development, and Customer Success to strengthen market adoption.
- Product Excellence & Modernization
- Promote modern product practices to increase time‑to‑value, including discovery, Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), and data‑driven prioritization.
- Maintain effective internal and external feedback loops, including insights derived from production data.
- Oversee product vision, strategy, roadmaps, Solution Epics, Capabilities, and Features.
- Cross‑Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Technology leadership to ensure aligned communication to Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) trains and foster transparency across teams.
- Coordinate execution and delivery across Product, Engineering, Data/Science, Professional Services, and Commercial organizations.
- Support sales readiness and enablement in partnership with Product Marketing Managers (PMMs) and Customer Engagement teams.
- Contribute to Program Increment (PI) events and related SAFe ceremonies.
- Customer, Industry & Ecosystem Engagement
- Build industry presence and contribute viewpoints on modern retailing, transition journeys, and ecosystem readiness.
- Represent Amadeus in customer forums, bilaterals, conferences, and industry events.
- Engage with emerging AI‑agent ecosystems (“agentic”), as well as platform intermediaries, to support broader ecosystem evolution.
- People Leadership
- Guide, support, and develop an effective global Product team (Product Managers (PMs), Product Owners (POs), PMMs, User Experience (UX) professionals, and Architects).
- Set clear goals, align the team on a shared product vision and strategy, and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Continuously improve ways of working and organizational effectiveness.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in Product Management leadership within airline, travel, retailing, or platform ecosystems, with the ability to shape and deliver product strategy.
- Ability to coordinate complex product strategies and support large‑scale transformations.
- Experience collaborating with global engineering and technology teams in SAFe or other scaled agile environments.
- Proficient financial understanding and experience with product economics, including FinOps.
- Clear communication with senior audiences and the ability to influence diverse, cross‑functional stakeholders.
