Scope of Position
The General Manager is responsible to administer the successful planning, organization, and coordination of all food and beverage activities in the restaurant, while providing exceptional service. He/she strives to continually improve guest and Associate satisfaction and maximize the financial performance in areas of responsibility.
Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations, ensure quality standards, and meet the expectations of guests daily.
Perform daily walk-through of restaurant, bar/lounge to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and JW Marriott Turnberry Miami Resort & Spa standards.
Handle guest concerns in a timely manner.
Understand Associate positions well enough to perform duties in associates absence.
Review staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met.
Menu knowledge (breakfast, lunch, dinner, bar, and wine pairing).
Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
Ensure Associates receive on-going training to understand guest expectations.
Manage service delivery in restaurant to ensure excellent service from point of entry to departure (e.g., greeting from host/hostess, speed of order taking and food and beverage delivery, fulfillment of special requests, collection of payment and invitation to return).
Oversee the financial aspects of the department including purchasing and payment of invoices.
Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently.
Manage the production of the payroll, reports, forecasts, inventory and budget for food and beverage operations.
Promote and maintain good employee relations between kitchen, stewarding and dining room Associates.
Recruit, interview, and hire Associates; conduct performance appraisals, coach and counsel, progressive corrective action, motivate, develop, and train.
Ensure all daily rehearsal meetings are conducted.
Participate in departmental meetings and communicate a clear and consistent message regarding the departmental goals to produce desired results.
Perform Any Other Reasonable Duties As Required By Management.
