The Flight Training Automation Strategy Co-op will support initiatives focused on improving and modernizing systems that enable pilot and instructor training operations.
This role sits at the intersection of technology, product ownership, and operational workflows, helping drive requirements, support testing efforts, and ensure system solutions align with real-world operational needs.
The Co-op will gain hands-on experience working with complex enterprise systems, cross-functional stakeholders, and product delivery processes in a highly operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders (training planners, instructors, operations teams) to understand current processes, system usage, and pain points
- Document and analyze end-to-end workflows, identifying inefficiencies, gaps, and improvement opportunities
- Support product ownership activities, including:
- Writing and refining user stories
- Defining requirements and acceptance criteria
- Maintaining and prioritizing backlog items
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to:
- Clarify requirements
- Align on system capabilities and constraints
- Support delivery of enhancements
- Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT):
- Validate system functionality
- Identify defects or gaps
- Ensure solutions meet business requirements
- Help bridge communication between:
- Technical teams (IT / developers)
- Operational users (planners, instructors)
- Support ongoing initiatives to modernize legacy systems and improve usability and efficiency
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- The Co-op position requires a candidate to be enrolled as an undergraduate (sophomore or above) that has successfully completed a minimum of 30 semester hours.
- Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and be able to maintain the minimum GPA.
- Working as a Co-op does not guarantee a full-time opportunity upon graduation. This position is intended to provide you with educational, and professional work experience to prepare you for the workforce.
- This position requires you to work for 3 alternating semesters. You cannot actively take any courses (inclusive of online or in-person) and work as a Co-op at the same time, which may delay your graduation by 1-2 semesters.
- Students must be able to complete 3 alternating rotations in Atlanta, GA in line with the schedule below:
- Spring 2027 - 1st rotation
- Fall 2027 - 2nd rotation
- Summer 2028 - 3rd rotation
- Strong organizational, project management, and personal management skills
- Robust verbal and written communication skills at all levels

- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
- Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s program in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology, or a related field.
- Foundational understanding of systems thinking, process mapping, or analytical problem-solving.
- Familiarity with basic product or project concepts (e.g., requirements, user stories, workflows, or testing processes).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate operational or business needs into clear, structured requirements or documentation.
- Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a collaborative environment.
- Curious, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in complex operational systems.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience working on technical or product-focused projects (requirements, workflows, or delivery).
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum (user stories, backlogs, or sprint work).
- Experience with process mapping or analyzing complex systems.
- Familiarity with testing (UAT, validation, or debugging).
- Basic data skills (Excel, SQL, or Power BI) to support analysis.
- Interest in product management, operations, or technology delivery.
