About CTM & 1000 Mile Travel Group
Corporate Travel Management (CTM) is a global leader in business travel management services. We drive savings, efficiency, safety and sustainability to businesses and their travellers in every corner of the world. Its proven business strategy combines personalised service excellence with client-facing technology solutions to deliver a return on investment to clients. CTM was founded in 1994 in Brisbane, and today is one of the largest travel management companies in the world! 1000 Mile Travel Group (1000MTG) is a wholly owned entity of Corporate Travel Management and the independent contractor brand for CTM, and a leading host agency within the Australian and Global Marketplace.
Founded in Australia in 2015, the company provides support and resources to independent contractors (ICs), enabling them to thrive in their businesses. As a forward-thinking company, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional service and fostering growth within our network. 1000MTG is deeply motivated to help experienced travel consultants turn their successful careers into their own travel business, while helping existing travel businesses grow — all underpinned by the 1000MTG support network.
About The Role
We are excited to introduce the newly created role of Head of Sales and Account Management, a pivotal leadership role within 1000 Mile Travel Group, responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth, strengthening client relationships, and leading national sales and account management functions. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role will collaborate closely with leadership to craft and execute a targeted sales and retention strategy aligned with the organisation’s vision, growth objectives, and market positioning.
This role leads the teams responsible for SME client acquisition, account management and retention, as well as the recruitment and support of Independent Travel Experts (ICs) within the network. As such, the Head of Sales & Account Management is instrumental in expanding both sides of the 1000MTG ecosystem: winning and retaining valuable client relationships while continuing to grow and support a high-performing network of travel experts.
A natural hunter with a passion for sales, the successful candidate will bring a proven track record of winning new business and leading high-performing national sales teams. They will combine strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, ensuring sales pipelines remain strong while coaching and developing their team to consistently exceed performance targets.
In addition to leading the broader sales and account management function, this role will maintain ownership of a select portfolio of mid-sized client accounts, with responsibility for driving revenue growth, improving margins, and ensuring long-term client retention. Through deep market insight and a strong understanding of SME client needs, the Head of Sales & Account Management will help shape service offerings that deliver exceptional value and strengthen long-term partnerships.
Success in this role requires an exceptional relationship builder and communicator who can influence across stakeholders, inspire teams, and foster a culture of accountability and performance. The ability to translate strategic objectives into clear execution plans will be critical in driving both sales growth and client retention.
Ultimately, this role will play a key part in accelerating 1000 Mile Travel Group's growth by strengthening our client base, empowering our people, and ensuring our network continues to deliver exceptional value to clients across Australia.
